On December 6, 2010, the Somerville School Committee issued commendations to Community Muralist David Fichter and partners at the Somerville Museum for their collaborative work with East Somerville Community School teachers and administrators to help students research, design and paint an 80' x 20' mural that will be installed on the outside of the East Somerville Community School when it is renovated.

Funding for this two-year project was provided by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Somerville Arts Council, the ESCS Fire Fund, and the Somerville Art Department.
