All of the meals and snacks offered by the Somerville School Food Service Department meet the nutritional requirements and meal pattern recommendations for participation in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. Fresh fruit is offered every day at school breakfast and lunch. Students at the Argenziano School and East Somerville Community School at Edgerly and Cummings also get free fresh fruit and vegetables as their mid-morning snack, paid for with grant money from the United States Department of Agriculture. Food and beverage items sold by the Food Service Department through a la carte sales programs meet the guidelines established by the Massachusetts Action for Healthy Kids.

Alternative lunches are offered daily with all of the sides, except on half day Wednesday.

All meals served with a choice of low fat 1% or skim milk.  All sandwiches served with lettuce and tomato.  Fresh fruit offered daily.  Menu subject to change.

Medically necessary dietary accomodations can be made.  Please contact Food Services to arrange.
