Answers
1)  Q What's going on with the rebuilding of the East Somerville Community School following the December 2007 fire?
A

The process of renovating the East Somerville Community School continues to evolve, with the Office of Capital Projects at Somerville City Hall taking a lead in working with the Massachusetts School Building Authority on the design and financing for this project. Please visit www.somerville.k12.ma.us/fire_recovery for more details on this process as it continues to unfold.

2)  Q Are your building accessible to individuals with mobility challenges?
A
Yes! All of the buildings in the Somerville Public Schools are accessible to individuals with mobility challenges. The Brown School (201 Willow Street), East Somerville Community School (8 Bonair Street and 42 Prescott Street), Somerville High School (81 Highland Avenue), and SPS Central Offices (181 Washington Street) are retrofitted to be compliant with ADA guidelines. You can get more information about gaining access to these buildings on our website or by calling the school in care of 617-625-6600.
3)  Q My child has mobility challenges and wants to enroll in the Unidos program. How will you accommodate my child?
A
Accommodations will be made so that students with mobility challenges will have full access to a bilingual, two-way instructional program in a full accessible site.

Students with mobility challenges who seek to enroll in the Unidos program for any grade should follow the normal school registration procedure. If your student is accepted for an open slot in Unidos please contact Special Education Director Debbie Connell, to discuss accommodations. Ms. Connell can be reached at 617-625-6600 x6800.

4)  Q How do I find the online link to Destiny/Online Library Catalogue?
A

Every school's home page now has a link to Destiny, the online library catalogue. Visit your school's website and scroll down to "student services" to find the link. It is right before the link to X2 Aspen Student Database.

You can find a much larger suite of online student research links at www.somerville.k12.ma.us/studentresearch.

5)  Q Where is the link to X2 Aspen Student Information Database?
A
Every school's home page now has a link to the X2 Aspen Student Information Database. Visit your school's website and scroll down to "student services" to find the link. It is right after the link to the Destiny/Library Catalogue Database. Alternately, bookmark https://studentdata.k12.somerville.ma.us/x2sis/logon.do in your favorite web browser.
