Q |
How is Full Circle different from Somerville High School? |
 |
A |
Because Full Circle is so much smaller, teachers can develop more personal relationships with students. Classes usually have fewer than eight students so individual learning styles, strengths, and needs can be addressed. Some of our students have attendance or behavioral problems, or learning disabilities. Some are dealing with clinical issues such as depression, loss, or trauma. To motivate and reward students, trips such as skiing and camping are scheduled, plus a variety of cultural enrichment programs. |

Q |
What do students have to say about Full Circle/Next Wave? |
 |
A |
I hardly went to school because I had low self-esteem and I was also depressed. As the years went by, I started to go more and more, and feel better about myself. I also learned how to talk about my problems and what was on my mind. Then I started to realize that I needed and education in my life.
Tammy Hight, class of 1999
People say Full Circle is for dummies. I feel it's for kids that really want to graduate but can't handle regular high schools. Full Circle will make sure you learned something. If you do not understand what they're teaching, they will be on your case until you do understand.
Ernie Brand, class of 2000
I have learned to like myself, and as I get older, I am learning to accept everyone around me as individuals. I have learned to study through my classes. My counselors have helped direct me and this semester, I have worked harder than ever.
