Named for President John F. Kennedy, Somerville's Kennedy School is driven by the goal of providing all students with academic, social, and emotional experiences to learn and practice the knowledge and skills necessary for future success. Students are taught by a committed, motivated, highly qualified staff using research based instructional methods and assessments to provide appropriate learning experiences.
Students at the Kennedy School can participate in student council, beautification of the school through gardening, community and world-wide service, a welcoming committee for new students, the morning news team, and other clubs and programs. The Kennedy School also offers extracurricular programs daily from 2:45-5:30 PM. Afterschool enrichment activities include Drama, Chorus, National History Day, Computer Technology, Math League, World Languages and Culture, the Arts, Music, and physical activities such as yoga, fencing, basketball, dance, and more.
