West Somerville Neighborhood School Families

We believe that parents/guardians are their children’s first teachers and should be partners in their child’s education. That is why family involvement is an integral part of the WSNS experience. All parents are encouraged to share in their child’s learning. Our active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) hosts a number of Family Nights and student dances throughout the year. The PTA also sponsors fundraisers, parent forums, and student field trips. The School Improvement Council offers parents/guardians and community members with the opportunity to shape improvement efforts at the West Somerville Neighborhood School

Click on "Information and Resources for Families" link on the left to explore resources and services for families at the West Somerville Neighborhood School and across the Somerville Public Schools. This includes a link to the Somerville Family and Community Collaborative (www.somerville.k12.ma.us/families), the free, city-wide workshop and networking program for families.

Safe Routes to School
