Congratulations to the following students for their effort and scholarship as they competed at Clark University in Worcester, MA in the State level History Day competition. Most of us remember history as a subject where we memorized dates and names and examined events that occurred in each time frame of our past. Students who participate in History Day are gaining a first hand look at the excitement real historians have in revealing more and more knowledge about our past. In-depth research into a topic helps us both understand how and why people acted the way they did in the past and how we might improve similar situations in the future. This competition is exciting, fun, nerve-wracking, and a lot of time and hard work, but the knowledge gained by students is its own reward.

The following students participated at the state level. Two groups, awarded 2nd place, will go on to the University of Maryland for the Nationals!!
