Attention Hoop Squad Volunteers: There will be practice TODAY during 5th block. Please go to your 5th block class and an announcement will be made as to when you will report to room 121 with Mrs. Flynn for practice.

· Senior Spirit Week has been changed. The following are the new updated dates and activities: · Tuesday, May 21 – Twin Day · Wednesday, May 22 – Back in the Day · Thursday, May 23 – Somerville High School Spirit Day · Friday, May 24 – College T-shirt Day Spain and Portugal 2014: Sign-ups are now open for the April 2014 trip to Portugal and Spain. A link to an application can be found on-line on the SHS World Languages Study Abroad page or on Sra. Brennan's Google homepage. All SHS students are welcome to apply. Direct questions to Srta. Bowen in room 443. Class Day Officersare to report to the cafeteria during block 5. Class Elections: All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are interested in running for the Class Officer positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, or Secretary must pick up nomination papers in Mr. Glynn's room, room 257. Completed nomination papers with 20 signatures must be submitted to Mr. Glynn by 2:30 this Friday, May 24th. Library: Library WILL BE OPEN all this week after school. Summer job interviews are completed. This Friday, May 24 is the last day to purchase June bus passes. Please see Mrs. Allen in room 235. SHOWSTOPPERS: Show Your Stripes, Show Your Stride – Do you sing, dance, act? Do you do ANYTHING? Come show us your hidden talent!
The audition dates are May 21, 22, 23 at 3:30 in the band room. Bring your own material if needed to the audition. The rehearsal dates are May 29, 30. If you don’t show up for rehearsal you cannot perform.
Teachers are welcome to participate. This year’s directors are Judcine Felix and Erika Mathieu.
The date of the show is June 4. Seniors: Yearbooks are now sold out. If you owe any money please see Mr. Maloney as soon as possible. Any yearbooks that are not paid off by the end of the week (May 17th) will be put on sale again next week and no refunds will be issued. If you are a senior who still wants a yearbook, more may become available later next week, so stop by and see Mr. Maloney in room 435 to be put on the wait list. If there are any questions, please see Mr. Maloney.
MCAS Tutoring: There will be Free math MCAS tutoring for all sophomores who will be taking the math MCAS in May. Tutoring is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in Room 414 from 2:45 to 4:15. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Snacks are provided. Library Books: There are many, many books that need to be returned to our school library. Please check your lockers, backpacks, and bedrooms for library books and get them back as soon as possible. There will be no fines, just get them back so other students can enjoy them. Thanks!
