Adult Evening School

Register for Winter 2013 Courses on January 8, 10, 15 and 17, 2013 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at Somerville High School (81 Highland Avenue).  Download the current full course catalog here, or by clicking on the document link at the bottom of this page.

 



Students from any high school, including Somerville High School and Full Circle High School may be eligible to take these courses for advance credit. Please talk with your guidance counselor for credit options.
Somerville is second only to New York City for its density of professional artists. Take advantage of what these artists have to offer as teachers with courses in art and self-expression geared for beginning adult learners.
Somerville has a rich history of being a gateway for new immigrants. These courses help adult learners develop the written, reading and oral skills necessary to break down language barriers.
Home ownership in Somerville continues to expand. These courses provide information for the do-it-yourself handyman (or woman) and give adult learners the opportunities to develop skills to make their house a home.

Economic success in the Boston area requires technological skill. These courses provide adult learners with basic and intermediate skills in basic computing and high demand software programs.

Supporting workforce development will help the Somerville Public Schools and the City achieve their goals of ensuring every student in Somerville is prepared for success in adult life. The following courses were developed to help Somerville employers AND employees strengthen their knowledge, skills and attitudes in their respective fields.
