Prospective Volunteers are required to submit a Volunteer Application which includes a CORI request (background check). CORIs must be accompanied by a photo identification (license, passport or school ID). Approved Volunteer CORIs are valid for three years with any Somerville Public School. Parents and Guardiansinterested in volunteering in their child's classroom, chaperoning a field trip or volunteering in their child's school must submit a CORI request with a photo ID. CORI requests may be submitted directly to child's homeroom teacher, any Somerville Public School's main office, or online through the Volunteer Application. Volunteers may contact the Volunteer Coordinator to check their CORI status. Volunteer Orientations and Trainings Schools conduct periodic Volunteer Orientations and Trainings.
