The Michael E. Capuano Early Childhood Center is a unique public early-childhood facility dedicated to enriching the lives of the children and families it serves.

The Capuano Center's educational philosophy calls the staff to provide students with extensive, varied and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that will help them grow intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.

Green School

The Capuano Center is an award-winning green building. Learn more about the environmental features of this innovative early childhood learning center, , or get a virtual tour of the child-friendly interpretive exhibits created by TERC and installed throughout the school facility. All green school instructional activities were funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust given to the City of Somerville .
