The end of another great year!
Thank you to everyone who helped the PTA this year, by volunteering when you could, by selling raffle tickets, by attending our pizza fundraiser, by baking, by clipping BoxTops, by attending coffee hours and helping us help the teachers cutting, stapling etc.
It's been another phenomenal year at Capuano and we wish everyone a wonderful summer and all the best for the new school year!
Highlights of this year included:
Field Trips and Enrichment Activities
Capuano students this year enjoyed a variety of field trips this year to places ranging from farms to zoos and fire stations to art museums. Children were also visited by Curious Creatures and enjoyed concerts in the cafeteria.
Coffee hours
We were happy to reintroduce coffee hours during the year. Parents and guardians came to the PTA room to make new friends, chat, enjoy coffee and snacks and help with some assembly projects for teachers.
June - Field Day
Another fabulous day of fun for children! Activities in the soccer field were organized by Mr. Coman, our gym teacher, and assisted by Next Wave students. Afterwards, students received a free slush and shared their dance moves on the playground.
May - Staff Apreciation Day
The PTA provided lunch to all Capuano staff members to thank them for all their hard work over the past year. Food was supplied by Victor's Deli and desserts were donated by parents and staff. We were also able to give door prizes to a number of individuals ranging from gift cards to Somerville restaurants, to massages and jewelry.
April - Pizza for Pre-K and K
We had a very successful pizza fundraiser, raffle and bake sale in April at Flatbread. It was great to see so many Capuano families enjoying good food, socializing and helping our school on this night.
December - Clothing Swap
Another incredibly successful swap this year as parents brought in gently used clothing, shoes and equipment to pass on to other families. Everything found a new home, from winter coats to strollers!

About the Capuano PTA
The Capuano PTA is a group of active parents, administrators, teachers and paraprofessionals, who are all dedicated to the development of our students.
We aim to increase parent and family involvement and also to raise funds to support curriculum-related field trips and enrichment activities as well as in-school presentations. Past events have included visits from Curious Creatures, music performances and puppet shows, as well as visits to the Aquarium, the Stone Zoo, Rainbow Fish, and much more.
Involving as many parents as possible in this process is a key component to the success of our Capuano Community. We strongly encourage you to attend PTA- and School-sponsored events and to become involved as a volunteer.
