After School
SPS AfterSchool offers a variety of after-school opportunities to support student learning, enrichment, and connection beyond the school day. SPS Community Schools is our district-run program, while SPS Programs are offered in partnership with trusted community organizations. SPS Clubs provide additional opportunities for students both within and outside of our schools. Together, these options give students a range of ways to learn, explore their interests, and connect with others after the bell rings.
SPS Community Schools
SPS Community Schools is the district’s own full time, fee-based model offering on-site, after-school activities for Pre-K to Grade 6 at each of our elementary schools. Many of these programs extend student learning by aligning with school curriculum. Students also have the chance to explore new and exciting activities outside of their daily academic studies.
SPS Programs
SPS Programs are both internal and partner-run programs that offer afterschool programs for qualifying students in Pre-K to Grade 8. Programs provide a variety of enrichment activities that extend student learning, allowing students the opportunity to develop skills or explore new interests.
SPS Clubs
SPS Clubs give students a chance to explore interests, try something new, and connect with classmates beyond the school day. Offered in three seasonal sessions, clubs typically meet 1–3 times a week for an hour, with students heading directly from their classrooms to their club. Most clubs are led by SPS teachers and offer a focused enrichment experience rather than full after-school care. At the end of each session, students are dismissed from the main office entrance. Clubs are available to eligible students who are not enrolled in SPS Community Schools, Programs, or El Sistema/Apollo programs on the same day.
Registration
Registration for Programs and Clubs is completed through the Arbiter Registration System. Program options will only be visible and available for registration during the designated sign-up window. The district will announce offerings and sign-up dates via monthly newsletters, social media, and dedicated email.
COMM
Out of School Department
Out-of-school time (OST) refers to the hours when students are not in regular school-day classes—before school, after school, weekends, and during school vacations. It includes structured programs such as after-school enrichment, tutoring, clubs, and summer or vacation programs, as well as less formal opportunities for learning, development, and supervision outside the traditional classroom.
